Big Brother

Connor was a hit at Starbucks yesterday. Laila was lying peacefully in her carrier, drooling as always.

"Mommy, she's making her mouth-stuff again," Connor said.

"Yes, she is," I replied nonchalantly. I continued to sip my coffee.

"I'm gonna clean it for her," Connor decided. He promptly got up, walked across the cafe, and took a napkin from a lady sitting nearby. I started to apologize, but she smiled and indicated that it wasn't a problem.

Connor returned with the napkin. By this time he had the attention of the lady whom he took the napkin from and the couple at the table next to us. He bent over Laila and tenderly wiped the drool from her mouth.

"Awww... What a good big brother," I heard around the cafe. I smiled. Connor continued wiping Laila's mouth, and then returned the napkin to the lady sitting at the table.
