"Is it Christmas time, Mommy?" Connor asked this morning.
"No, we just had Christmas," I explained. "Christmas is still a very long time away. First we have Valentine's Day, and then we have Easter."
"For Easter, we just hunt for eggs, right? That's all we do. It's just one day; we get eggs, and then it's over, right?"
"Well, it's just one day. After Easter is summer, and we will go to the beach house again, and then it will be fall, and you will have a birthday, and then it will be Halloween, and then Thanksgiving. And do you know what's after Thanksgiving?" I asked.
"What?"
"Christmas!" I said excitedly.
"Aw, man, I hate Christmas," Connor replied.
"You hate Christmas?"
"Well, no, I don't hate it. I like the getting presents part. But I hate the before and after part of Christmas."
"Why?"
"Because it's so cold. I hate the cold. I like it when it's warm."
