Today was Connor's last day of school. He will return next fall to the "big kids' hall", but I've opted to keep him home with me and Laila for the summer.
I wonder if I made the right decision.
I am very excited about the summer. I feel almost like a kid on the last day of school. I'm anticipating trips to the beach (including an ENTIRE WEEK in Litchfield WITH LEE and the kids--our longest vacation together since we've been married!); swim lessons; hanging out by the pool; the 4th of July; and just playing.
But then I remember that in addition to the above I will be caring for a baby (and nursing and changing diapers and nursing and changing diapers and nursing and changing diapers), doing laundry and dishes (and laundry and dishes), cooking, cleaning, and running errands, all while trying to control a hyperactive three-year-old (and my sanity). Oh--and I plan to continue to work from home. Should be interesting.
Not quite the carefree summers of my childhood. But I think it will be a lot of fun.
